The Junior High Band (Grades 7 and 8) rated a I and the Sixth Grade Band, a I. Many students participated in vocal and in- strumental solos and small groups, and received blue, red, and white ribbons of excel- lence. Judges for the occasion were Judy Graves and Larry Pollard of Marshall. Also a new Flag Corps was added to the band. Students worked very hard to provide a good showing for the crowds at the Concordia Festival, at- Missouri Valley’s Homecoming, and at Marshall High School’s Home- coming. Following Marshall High School’s Homecoming parade, the band went to Columbia for M.U.’s Homecom-

Activities sponsored by the Student Council this year were Spirit Week, Courtwarming ac- tivities, TWIRP Week, and the Volleyball tournament at Christ- mas time, and the Awards Banquet. The officers did a good job; our thanks to Rene Mont- gomery, president; Lisa Kloep- pel, vice president; Daphne DeHaven, secretary; Kris Har- riman, treasurer; Ms. Patty Lager was sponsor. The Council worked hard to raise money for the activities. They sold and delivered Valen- tine suckers with a message and sold Birthday and Activity Calendars.
