Spirit Drivers Help On A Great March To Success The girls make plans for an exciting game. Row 1: Sally Robertson, Pam Williams. Row 2: Edith Whalen, Pam Wade. Row 3: Lee Lewis, Head Cheer- leader Lee stands in anxiety as the score comes closer. The Senior High Cheerleaders held tryouts before the 69-70 school year ended for the 70- 71 cheer leaders. The girls attended a one-day cheerleading instruction camp in Kansas City. They also attended a one week instruction camp on the Missouri Valley College Campus in Marshall. They combined what they had learned and had some very good cheers for the year. The cheerleaders sold pop and candy at noon to help raise money for their cheerlead- ing outfits. The girls cheered the varsity boys on to a first place win the Conference Tournament. 26

Great Determination The Tigerettes couldn't come up with a very impressive record this season. Wheeling took the first game 35-16. Then on to Southwest of Ludlow, again the Tigerettes went down in de- feat 40-23 The Northwestern Tournament at Mendon faced Malta Bend with Hale, Hale being victo- rious 56-8. Malta Bend went on in tournament to oppose Bosworth, Bosworth came out on top 44-31. Again Malta Bend met Hale, Hale repeated their action, with the score this time of 60-20. Bogard added another win with a score of 68-22. Tina Avalon Dragons slipped by with a 37-34 victory. Again Malta Bend challenged Bosworth, the final score was 42-32, Bosworth's favor. Bogard downed Malta Bend once more with a 66-19 victory. Bosworth and Malta Bend clash- ed for the final time, with Malta Bend dropping to Bosworth in the final quarter 29-26. Stet and Malta Bend finally met, Stet leaving with a 38-13 victory. Tiger action ended in the CLAA Tourna- ment, with a discouraging loss to Southwest, 62-35. Heads are up while M. B. scores. «V» The huddle catches much controversy. Tigers Post 13-6 Basketball Season Tigers fight for the ball. Malta Bend clashed with the Wheeling Bulldogs in the home opener. The Tigers won rather easily 54-32. Ed and Danny work together to guard Bogard. Tigers are up in the air over Bogard.
