Malta Bend High School has a history of many years-the number of years that out numbers each student of MBHS. This great building for education was put here for our benefit-our parents and grandparents created it for us. Education is sought by the rich and poor alike, it is worshiped by those who have gone through life without it, and it is misunderstood by many who have had it forced upon them. Its value is in abundance, yet we cannot get enough education to solve our world problems. Each student in MBHS has had his chance to express himself in a year with its great problems and its many solutions. We hope you can begin to understand our way of life through our expressions of these moments in the 1971 Tiger Tales. This book has been edited by Jeannee Morrow and Dana Marcusen. In dedicating this yearbook we would like to remember John Morrow, December 22, 1960--June 1, 1970 and Franklin Chevalier July 8, 1952--October 23, 1970. Life has its beginning and its end. A climax is reached between these points. Young life is so free and beautiful. Each minute is filled with happiness, hesitation, frustration, repose and dedication. Each person is his own person. There are never carbon copies. There are leaders and there are followers. It takes many leaders, but more followers to complete man's goal in life. From the very first moment each person is an example. And that example is followed by life itself. Life is a promise and a privilege. We have our purposes and death is the fulfillment of our promise. John and Franklin will always be remembered for their promise fulfi I led. We are better people for having known them my friends. Jeannee 84 The 1970-71 Tiger Tales is a book of expressions. The staff will never be able to ex- press our sincere appreciation to each and every individual who has helped to make this book possible. The staff would like to thank Mr. Lee Bearden, our professional photographer, from Lee's Studio, Marshall, Missouri. Mr. Beardon has made many trips to Malta Bend for special pictures, and he has processed a countless number of pictures. The staff would also like to thank Mr. Pat Penniston, our representative from Walsworth Publishing Company, Marceline, Missouri. Mr. Penniston has answered many questions from the staff members; also the staff thanks Mrs. Mary Margaret Kemm, our advisor. Mrs. Kemm has spent many hours helping the staff along, much of this time after school was out. The public has also aided in making this book possible. We thank you for buying this book. Kindness- in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates Love. Lao-Tse Time is precious and much time has been spent on this book. Again, thank you to everyone who has helped in even the smallest ways.
