1967 M-G HI LITES Presented by the Senior Class Class Flower: Yellow Rose Colors: Navy and White Motto: A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with One Step Patrick Henry School Malinta-Grelton Building Malinta, Ohio Volume X Dedication On this tenth anniversary of the publication of the M-G Hi Lites it is indeed fitting to decidate this volume to Mr. Dale Snavely, the adviser for the ten years. He has guided its growth thus far; so each year showed improvement over the past. “Each is given a bag of tools, A shapeless mass, A book of rules; And each must make, Ere life is flown, A stumbling-block Or a stepping-stone.” —R.L. Sharpe How does one measure this ten years of service to the cause of a Memory Book? We cannot presume to try to answer. We can only say “Thank You, Mr. Snavely, for building Stepping-Stones instead of stumbling-blocks. The Vocal Department, under the direction of Mr. Wil- son, also made many accomplishments. A Boys' Glee was once again formed. They entertained at a Hamler Assembly Program and at the Henry County Teachers' Meeting. The Boys' Glee went to District Contest and received a II rating. The Mixed Chorus presented a Christmas Concert with the band on December 21. Twenty-four members of the cho- rus participated in a concert at Ohio Wesleyan in February. The efforts and goals of Mr. Wilson remain a part of M-G's history. A great teacher has left us, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all of us. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED In five years of attempt, this year was the year of achievement - - the band hit its goal, a I rating. Although the marching band has rated highly in the past, the concert band has usually failed in its attempt; however, under the direc- tion of Mr. Charles Wilson, the band with dili- gent work and practice overcame its obstacles and advanced to the top rating of a I at District Contest. The irony of the accomplishment was fol- lowed by the unwelcomed news of the retire- ment of Mr. Wilson. Girls’ Glee TOP ROW, Left to Right: J. Kieffer, K. Lulfs, V. Fisher, B. Vollmar, J. Stephens.
