The annual blood drive held by the Senior class, with the help of the Red Cross, was on November 30, and it was very successful with a total of 109 pints of blood collected. The success was largely due to the planning of co¬ chair persons, Jean Connors, John Hartigan, Bob O ' Meara, Linda Thistle, and Eva Ververidis. Before the Seniors gave blood, they had to fill our various forms asking about their medical history. Their temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and a sample of blood were taken as precautionary measures. They were allowed to donate only if all these things were normal. After they were finished, they were given juice, coffee, and cookies to keep up their strength. They then had to sit down and rest for at least fifteen minutes. To show their appreciation, the Red Cross gave everyone a pin, a sticker, and a bumpe sticker. It was the first time donating blood for most of the Seniors, and many of them were nervous. Most of them felt great afterwards, because they knew that their pint of blood could save the lives of others The day went by with very few complications, because the donators followed all of the instructions of the volunteers. Everyone agreed that the blood drive had been a huge success, and for a worthwhile cause. Supporting the Senior class, Jim Grady donates his blood. 1 2 Blood Drive A
