Clowning in the halls. It is unusually difficult to thank someone who has given his time and energy to a class for three years. Not only has he been an advisor, he has acted as counselor, part-time psychiatrist, businessman, painter, construction worker, playwright, college recommendation writer, and flutophone virtuoso. As a chemistry teacher, he has taken his work personally and is his own most severe critic when he feels he has not had as much time as he would like to devote to class preparation. In theChem lab, he has referred to himself as the “cup washing elf” who prowls around after school washing dirty coffee mugs. He has experienced a complete spectrum of emotions as Senior Class Advisor, from anxiety and depression to satisfaction that cannot be verbalized. He was reduced to joyous arm waving and bear hugs for days after the Senior play. He has been heard to wonder if there were some way that his Senior Class could all stay back. Because a very special relationship has developed between him and the Class of 1975, this Maldonian is dedicated to John Benotti. Accepting the January Teacher of the Month award. DEDICATION
