seniors ' pride describes the turn-around As a senior on the Malden High football team, one experiences feelings of leadership, confidence, inner drive and often times the frustrations of defeat. The seniors, realizing that this was their last year as members of the Golden Tornado squad, worked diligently to make the team eligible for the Greater Boston League Championship. Along with such established players as Jack Freker, Jeff Sullivan, and Mark Burns, the seniors displayed the element which makes a good football team great. Pride,” says senior Mike Souza, that one word describes the complete turn- around of M.H.S. football.” Pride was the factor which evidently did turn around the team, so much so that they went on to defeat the over-confident Medford Mustangs and with that became the G.B.L. co-champs.
