Summer signals a time for sun and relaxation. School sessions have finally ended, and the threat of future work seems far away. For the time, we are content to accept no responsibilities; we are anxious for some enjoyment! Each person sees the summer totally differently. To some, summer is a time to explore. Others are happy sitting with friends. Excitement can always be found at the beach, and local parks become overcrowded with high school students. Everyone is out for a good time. Even those who find summer employment find themselves enjoying the summer. Although they are not able to participate in summertime fun, they are able to enjoy just not going to school. The summer is a time to enjoy all that there is no time for during the hectic school year. 1 Summer is the cottage at the lake 2 sailing lessons 3 quiet talk with a friend 4 . .. sitting in the shade at Ameridge Park 5 horseback riding 6 swim¬ ming at Breakheart Reservation 7 long quiet days. field hockey has successful season The 1974 Girls’ Field Hockey team showed outstanding spirit and determination. Led by tri-captains Elaine Burke, Brenda Sousa, and Rose Tomasello, the field hockey team completed a successful season. The exceptional talent of this year ' s netminder “Chickie Callahan kept Malden’s girls colorful. Team effort was stressed by not only the captains but by seniors Linda Moulton and Donna Mooney; juniors Susan CiccarelIi. Patty Gerrin, Sheryll Matthews, Cheryl Eddy, and sophomores Barbara Bennett and Lori Scheufele. Coach Carol Gavoorian felt “the girls showed sportsmanship on and off the field.
