there was more ... A yearbook should be the history of a particular year in a particular school, but all of us had lives that went beyond the school. The real history of the year was more than what we shared in the buildings of Malden High. Before the year began there were days of bicycling, and nights at The Prince or ‘‘the Park.” There were fads, heroes, and hobbies. Every generation has its own. When the school day ended different interests took us in many directions to the beach or to the mountains, to the square” or other metropolitan towns like Malden. Often our interests took us to Boston for concerts and theatre, sports and shopping, and sometimes even study at the B.P.L. or history on the Freedom Trail. There were loud parties, and there was quiet music and quiet talk. The year was more than our lives at Malden High School. School was what we shared, and that story is here; however, there was more to the year, and that story is here also. 12 THE YEAR
