Dedicated to Excellence W hat is Malden Catholic? Ostensibly, it is a school, a place where young men come to learn. However, anyone who has had firsthand experience with M.C. will tell you that it is much more than a school. It is a community. On a typical school day during our years at Malden Catholic, over eight hundred students, faculty, and staff members from dozens of different cities and towns travelled to 99 Crystal Street to make up this community. We came for many reasons: to learn, to teach, to serve, to compete, to socialize, to advise, and to have fun. Perhaps most importantly, we came to grow. By sharing in a variety of experiences — experiences that were academic, athletic, extracurricular and spiritual in nature — we all grew as in dividuals. One factor tied everything at Malden Catholic together: the pursuit of excellence. In the classroom, on the field; before, during, and after school, people at M.C. strove to put forth their best effort. Nobody is perfect and we therefore did not always succeed. However, this dedication to excellence gave us many reasons to be proud of ourselves and of our school. The pages of this yearbook attempt to highlight some of these reasons and to capture the spirit that is Malden Catholic. This Page: Middle Left: Layton, Hopkins, Alston, and Giordano celebrate.
