Sports A recovered fumble by guard Tom Denehy and a Red Harris-to-Neil Hurley pass completion in the final minutes of the game proved the major factors in the vital win over St. John ' s Prep. This victory secured the Catholic Conference Title and the Class B-Championship for the Malden Catholic football team. Senior members of the Championship football team were halfbacks Bill Regan, Paul Richard, Mike Smith, and John Cunningham; fullback Neil Hurley; quarterback Red Harris. Linemen were ends John Neville, Robert Ciccarelli; tackles, Frank Walsh, Bill Coffey, and Steve Lucci; guards, Bob Lyons, Dennis O ' Donnell, and Tom Denehy; center, Richie Cullen. Individual honors collected by members of the team included those of fullback Neil Hurley: Co-captain; All-Scholastic; All-Catholic Conference, M. V.P.; Catholic All-American, Quarterback Red Harris: All-Scholastic; All-Catholic Conference. Center Richie Cullen: Co-captain; All-Catholic Conference.
