ENGLISH DEPARTMENT Mrs. Linda Bennett Mr. Joseph Brown Mrs. Francene Burnett The English Department at Malcolm X Shaba .z High School strives to provide each student with a basic, practical, and functional knowledge of the English language and its literature by the time he or she graduates. At each level, the English program builds on and incorporates the programs of previous grade levels. Two of our major goals are to increase the percentage of students passing the communication segment of the HSPT and to improve the students' awareness of the important role that the English language and its literature play in their personal and career development.
