She is a physical education and health teacher here. She is a woman who, when we attempted to stray down the wrong road, was there to guide us and put us back on the right route. Miss Williams is a woman of inner beauty and a woman of sacrifice. For her efforts to the Senior Class we dedicate this book to her. Mr. Irving L. Seid has given forty-three years to the students and teachers of Malcolm X Shabazz High School. Those who know him or who have had the pleasure of being in one of his classes know that he is a GREAT mathematician and an excellent teacher. Mr. Seid, a South Side graduate, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Montclair State College. In 1936 Mr. Seid earned a Master of Arts degree in Administration and supervision. In 1962 at Stanford University he earned a Master of Arts in Mathematics. The students and teachers of Malcolm X Shabazz High School will miss all that Mr. Seid has brought to our school. For this and on behalf of the Senior Class of 1977, we dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Irvinq Seid .... A Dedicated Teacher. Mr. Charles R. Driggins PRINCIPAL PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1977, the Faculty joins me in saluting you on this signal achievement and to remind you that For everything its season, and for every activity under heaven its time.11 What do you understand time to be? To appropriate time means we bring to our lives an accepted past, a vibrant present, and an open future. If you will keep a promise, forgive an enemy, welcome a stranger, express your gratitude, return charity for malice, manifest your loyalty in word and deed, and dismiss suspicion and replace with trust, then you will have gone a long way in having your present needs no longer bound to your past, for your past will be approved. If you will banish envy, share some treasure, apologize if you are wrong and ease your demands on others, then you will enjoy a vibrant present. Finally, of you will seek out a forgotten friend, think first of someone else, and attempt to appreciate the beauty and wonder of the earth - then time in the future will be open to you with all of its possibilities.
