Standing: Judy Stahl, Brigitte Steger, Jim Buckalew, Milton Stillwell, Janie Ferris, Dick Bajai, Dan Linkhorn. The orientation in 1864 was hardly over when the Class of 1967 found itself swept into Malabar’s activities that stretched into the final days of college boards, and job and college applications. Senior Janie Ferris was the Homecoming Queen with more than “One Shining Mo- ment” to remember. The class turned to serious drama with the production of Arthur Miller’s The Cruci- ble, provocative study of the potential evil in human society. The closing months were filled with the inevitable joys and tears of the last game, the final examination, the farewell day, and the departing hours. Concentration on studies became difficult when Seniors became pre- occupied with thoughts of invitations, prac- tices, Senior Prom, Baccalaureate, and the emerging class of 1967. Dave presented winning speech. 2 e Row One: Judy Stahl, Treasurer; Carol Litzler, Secretary; Janie Ferris, Vice President. Row Two: Mrs. Mary Shaw, Advisor; Mrs. Margaret Conrad, Advisor. The swim team was soon back on the victorious trend with wins Over Massillion, Washington, Newark, Wooster, Colonel Crawford, and Worthington, all by wide margins, in their next five dual tests. A win in the final event gave Ashland an upset victory over Malabar, 48-47, the following Saturday. The meet was highlighted, however, by Bill Orton’s crack- ing his own varsity record in the 100 yard breas- troke with a 1:04.6 clocking and Vic Kuhn’s tying a varsity mark in the 100 yard backstroke with a 1:01.7. Strong Findlay dealt the Falcons their third defeat, 50-45, in the Malabar natatorium, previous to the Malabar Relays in which Malabar placed third. The swimmers raced past Wooster again, 59-36, preparing themselves for their tough meets with Newark, Sandusky Senior, and Colum- bus Academy which followed to round out their schedule. Recalling is Acknowledging From the first staff session in September until the final mailing in March we depended upon the cooperative sup- port of a number of people. Interrupting classroom routine, rushing a photographer, calling Saturday sessions, holding you for a late-afternoon picture were among the inconveniences you accepted. The intent of the 1967 Ta on is to help you in recalling and reliving the school year.
