SENIOP CLASS HISTORY fcontinuedl Our Senior year has been marked w1th one tragedy, the death of our classmate, Jack Howlett Jack was well liked by everyone Ve received our rings the second day of school These rings were flashed around Quite a lot the first three or four weeks and then the new wore off We are still oroud of those rings though In the second wfek of school we lnitiated the Freshman They certainly looked comical w1th the girls wearing long underwear under overalls worn backwards and rolled up to the knees They wore one tennis shoe and one hlgh heel, onions around thelr neck They wore sw1m caos with hairnets over them They each brought a tube of liostick and eyebrow nencil We saw to it that they each had the aonroiate make un on The boys wore short frilly dresses A rag mon with a scarf to hold it on made them very attractive And of course they wore the tradltional onion around their necks Bovs and E1F1S both carried thelr books 1n a bucket, carried flvstatters and bowed and sang the WOld Mill Streamn when ordered to do so by a Senlor That night we gave them a narty at the school house marched them to town and had them narade un and down ma1n street singing HDown by the Old M111 Stream We took them back to the school house where they had to go through varlous songs and dances and av several oenalt1es The Freshman than had to steo blindfolded and barefooted into a box of d1rty snevhetti Thev though the box contained the green worms we had shown them before we bl1ndfolded them I think the Freshman ngoyed this initiation as much as we did We had sneak day on Seotember 28 Ne nicked a bad day for it as it rained all day Ne lnvaded Maryvllle and 1n soire of the rain, we managed to have a lot of fun On October ld, we had Senior nlctures taken Ve got them back Navember 30, and for two or three days exeryone snent h1s t1me trading D1CCUTES Ne oresent d our nlay, WA Feud1n' Over Yonder W on March 31 It nroved successful and we had a lot of fun nutt1nf lt on M Malotte and Mrs Snangler directed the nlav ADP1l 25 was Qenlor Day And Anrll 30 as the J Sr B nouet The Junlors gave a xera successful banouet wlth the Jr r Brom after the banouet The flrst of lay we took o1r SGHIUP trlo xe went to of Lou1s 'e h d a good tlme staxln lh hotels inc C3k1HF ln the S1 hts o the y Now at last, the goal we h ve worked for for twelve years has been attalned Baccalaurette nd omrencement xe leave old altland high th1nk1ng of all the good tnmes we have had, and although we are haoov to be out we stlll can't helo feellnf llttle regret that we do h ve to leave We fell lt wlll be elfflcult or any other class o have such an enwoxable hlgh school career as we have had But, nevertheless we hone the fOllOWlDr classes wlll be as pro nerous 1n t e1r h1Ph school vears as we were Class offucers for our Sen1or ve r were Presldent D1X19 lley V1ce oresldent Vona Hunt Secretary treasurer Jo Ann Page Sponsor Nr Malotte Ne have enjoyed maklnv th1s annual and feel we have out out an lnterestlng book . .
