SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On Sentember 3 1951, nineteen, shy, green Freshman cllmbed the stairs to beein their four years of h1vh school They were Maxine Hammond, Idalvn Guthrie, Ruth Archer, Ann Lea Cowan, Dlxie June Wiley, Patty Elder, Jo Ann Pave, Beverly DeBord Anlta Gallavher, Vona Hunt, Kenneth Larason, Jack Howlette, Donald Nennihan, Verl Vestcott, Donald Ashlock, J1m Duyre im Dennison Jo n Mvers, and Ralph McKinney Class offlcers for our Freshman year were President Patty Elder V1ce oresident Dixie Niley Secretary Kenneth Larson Treasurer Jo Ann Pave Our Snonsor was Sh1rley Fockhold We chose as our motto WOut of school life, into 11fe's school W Our flower is the American beautv roee Our colors are red and white Ne were 1nitiated durlng the second week of school Although it was a nretty rouvh ordeal, we have to admit lt was a lot of fun The virls had to wear lonz underwear with Corsets, shoe boxes on our feet, hair drinoing Nlth 011, flve bracelets on each arm and several rings and necklaces and an onlon around the neck The boys had to wear baby dresses and a diaoer and bonnets They had to carry the1r books in a baby buvsy and wear shoe boxes on their feet Both boys and E1TlS had to bow to the senlors and say the1r abc's backwards Th t nlvht the senlors tonoed lt off w1th a narty at the school house, serving cokes and ooncorn We now felt like full fledged hivh school students As our Sonhmore year began we still had an enrollment of nlneteen We lost Futh Archer, but galned Melva Tull1s from Forest C1ty Our offlcers for the Sonhmore year were Vice nresident D1X16 vlley Secretary Treasurer Jo Ann Page Soonsor John Russell During our Junlor year we had a lot of fun Ve had lost and gained some members of our class Donald Mennlhan, Verle Westcott, Donald Ashlock and Kenny Larson left us but Glenn Dlggs Jooned from Skidmore making an enrollment of 15 Our snecial events the Jun1or year was our nlay and the Jr Sr Bancuet Ve nresented our olay nmhls Ghost QUSIHE s on Aurll 8 Nine class members and one Freshman composed the cast Ne had a lot of fun utting the lay on Mr Wuester directed the nlay On Anril 16, we took the b6nlOFS and faculty to Kansas Clty to the ice Ca ades Ne held the banouet at the Beacon, south of St Tose h Ne ordered our TlDZS and announcement, and could hardly walt unt11 our Senior year to et them Class officers for this term were President Jack Rowlette Vice resident Kenny Larason Secretary treasurer To Ann Page S onsor Terry Muester Now at last we have reached our Senlor year At the nresent we have an enrollment of lb Me lost Beverly DeBord but zalned Lowell Lone from Cle rmort D r . ,D , - v ' , .
