1963 VARSITY SQUAD From row: Jim Gaverth, Steve Priest, Jim Wencil, Jim Manny, Bill Wagner, Tony Glaser. Back row: Coach Kearns, Terry Albers, Tom Kelly, Cliff Vogel, Jeff Clement, Bob Poyer, Frank Dennis. TENNIS Tennis proved to be just as smashing in success as some of Maine ' s other sportts as it singled and doubled its way to an 8-2 conference record and a third in the District Meet. The racket War- riors of ' 64 fully intend to con- tinue their winning ways, a habit indulged in by nearly all of the school ' s var ' sity teams. 1963 SOPHOMORb buUA© Front row: Claude Stewart, Dave Dekatur, Bob Reinhart, Bill Klein, Dick Cornelius, Dan Barry. Back row: Coach Kearns, Jim RicharcJs, Roger Johnson, Bob French, Dick Leyerle, Dave Hammer, Tim Dowell. 1963 FRESHMAN SQUAD FrorM row: Bob Gunter, Scott Evans, Jim Langdon, Ed Challberg. 1964 VARSITY SQUAD Front row: Bob Means, Steve Ross, Mike Krcwka, Clyde Rowel Is. Back tow. Coach Henry, Terry FIddeIke, Mike Greene, Hank Blenner, Bob Pemoller. GOLF Perhaps Coach Henry ' s stickmen won fewer dual meets than they had planned or hoped to in 1963; but when that big squad effort was need- ed for a major tournament, all shot the pro-type scores that at other times were scarce. Evidence of this is proved by the fact that they copped firsts in both the conference and district meets. A hard nucleus of lettermen was back in 1964 with a good chance to improve on last year ' s record. 94
