ART In order to obtain a comprehensive, well-rounded education, a student must develop his senses as well as his mind. The fulfilment of this phase of the stu- dent ' s education is the primary objective of Maine West ' s art department which offers an extensive and well-diversified curriculum that exposes the interested student to all forms of art. The courses offered serve to stimulate imagination and creativity as they pro- mote a sensitive, cultural awareness and instill an invaluable appreciation for the aesthetic values of the world around us. BUSINESS EDUCATION After the student has acquired a good academic background, his next concern is how to utilize that background to best advantage toward secur- ing a job and establishing himself as a responsible member of the community. The business educa- tion department provides for the student an opportunity to learn the more basic and practical skills that he will be called upon to use in the business world. Courses offered range from per- sonal typing to commercial law and serve to provide a wide base from which the student can confidently draw on later in a job or in specific study upon graduation. C.
