As we cast reflections over this past year at Maine West - the friends, the memories of dances, sports, clubs, and exams - and record them within the covers of this Legend, we hope to establish a permanent record which can be maintained as a future reference for each and every one of us. Many of the events recorded herein are vivid today, but as we leave and pursue the many paths our lives will take, these memories tend to fade from us. The blur of mixed expressions, the impatient glances, the sprinkles of laughter, the frowns of concentration, and the sleepy yawns are visual expressions that share in the benefits of participation. The purpose of this yearbook is to cap- ture these expressions and provide us with reflections from 'lie past year. With the careful guidance of the Maine West faculty, the class of '62 can well be proud of the part it has had in establishing precedents to guide many of the activities of the classes which will follow.
