A student 'N D entering Maine West is free to choose one of many courses of study: 0 N college preparatory, general, industrial arts or home economics, and J-J business education. Maine's comprehensive program offers students Q not only a wide range of subjects from which to choose, but also accelerated and advanced placement programs, for students with exceptional abilities, and experimental programs REFLECTING 0 Maine's constant striving for better education. Equipped with modern X . facilities, Maine West prepares each student for his personal goals in ' X life by building a strong foundation of knowledge. The faculty at Maine West is the most important single part of the educational development of the students. Besides their work in the classroom, teachers also sponsor extra-curricular activities. Their day is much like that of the students: daily classes, a leisurely lunch, friendly chats with friends, and after school activities. Besides, they have grades and progress reports to make out, homeroom duties, monthly departmental meetings, and many other activities too numerous to mention.
