The Legend is a collection of memories. It is a symbol of ideas which will in later years become a legend. As a new school, Maine West has not estab- lished traditions and must start its own. We, the student body, recalled not only the memory of the old school but also looked forward to the new year. Among the things we remember are the home- coming game and dance, the senior class play, the basketball games, the variety show, and finally, the commencement exercises. A freshman comes to the school not knowing how to act. The sophomore looks back on his freshman year with a smile, thinking of the silly things he did. A junior looks back on his last two years but to a greater extent looks forward to his senior year. He knows that this will be his most important year. The senior looks back on his four years with nostalgia. This nostalgia, however, is overpowered by a greater desire of going to college or of holding his first full time job. Willie the Warrior, mascot of the Legend, is go- ing to take you on a tour of the building and introduce the staff and student body. He will visit clubs, games, events, and each homeroom.
