KTELETTCS Hawks tackle opponents to tue conference title The varsity Hawks continued their winning ways once more this season with an 8-1 record and tieing Glen- brook North for the conference cham- pionship. The Hawks traveled to Willowbrook, and looked very good against the overly large Willowbrook team, but could not put the score on the board, conceding their opening playoff game. During the conference season, fine performances were given by many senior players. Nine men were placed on the all conference team, and middle linebacker Paul Preston was elected to the all-state team. Coach Schmidt looked forward to a fine '77-'78 season. 28 1'-4: lard -,.-. . . lar- , I 3'-A-': 4.-
