Superintendent Short upheld his outstanding record for keeping the academic standards high in the township. Dr. Meyers and Dr. Benka, assistants to Dr. Short, organized and coordinated activities for the district. Maine South's principal, Dr. Watson proved to be beneficial, and helped the school to retain its high standards. The assistant prin- cipals, Mr. Barker and Mr. Simon- son,were both concerned with Maine South's goals. Administrators prove valuable Throughout this past year, Maine South's administrators were again an excellent and efficient staff. Their goals were to find better methods to improve the educational system. Members of the Executive Commit- tee and Administrative Council co- operated with the students and fac- ulty in order to join efforts for the benefit of the entire student body. Mr. Smith, Miss Iliff, and Mr. Bitta, Maine South's student deans, continued to work efficiently with the students to create a better un- derstanding. The P.T.C. was a ben- eficial organization that kept the lines of communication open between the teachers and parents. ABOVE RIGHT: Dean Smith maintained order among the student body.
