Students apply home ec. skills Maine South's home economic clubs allowed students to continue their interests in this field. A popular club this school year was the Food Occupations Club, whose many mem- bers were able to gain much knowl- edge and experience through organiz- ing and preparing luncheons for var- ious groups. They also participated in the first Homecoming carnival and sponsored a canned food drive. Child Care Occupations Club organized many beneficial tasks throughout the year to help various children of pre-school ages. Similiarly, the Clothing and Interior Design Club was available for students who had interests in sewing and designing. This club helped to develop skills in sewing and interior designing, while members enjoyed field trips and fund-raising projects. ..dLLL'r. . 132
