Club members work together South's Art and Photography Clubs enabled many creative stu- dents to become involved. This year's members in the Art Club experienced guest speakers in the field of art, group art projects, and again, the annual Art Fair. South's photogra- phers also were able to demonstrate their creative talents through the Photo Club. As ir1 other years, club members compiled a portfolio, and participated in the annual Art Fair. The Paperback Bookstore was open again this year for students to buy popular books, and was operated by students who gave up lunch periods. Another club, Film Society, gave stu- dents the chance to view several dif- ferent films during the year. in-J 128

' Foreign language clubs interest many students Foreign language clubs were in- deed an integral part of cultural enrichment at Maine South. French and also Spanish Club, for example, participated in the Homecoming Car- nival by selling various foreign foods. Spanish Club, as well as German Club, sponsored various food sales for fund-raising pur- poses. Also, Christmas parties con- tributed to the agenda of club ac- tivities. Several traditions were in- itiated at the Christmas time cele- brations. Because of these cultural organizations, much enjoyment was shared by all involved. 130
