After being carefully selected from a series of try-outs, the girls were placed in various acts according to their in- dividual swimrning skills. In the spring, much hard work and dedica- tion paid off as their annual show, this year titled Kaliopy, proved to be very entertaining. Also this year, members of Marlin performed at the International Festival of Aquatic Arts, held at Glenbrook North. As in other years, the Marlin Swim Club provided much entertaining precision swimming for South, in addition to being a fun club for many girls. LEFT: Marlin Officers: Top: K. l1iBl11Bll ational Honor Society awards talented students As in the past, deserving juniors and seniors were elected into the Na- tional Honor Society. To be elected, the pupils were required to maintain a grade point average of 4.0 and also demonstrate leadership and fine character. The seniors who were elected this year into the National Honor Society had to meet stricter requirements. To become a member, a senior needed to have a 3.2 grade point average, unlike other years when a 3.0 average was acceptable. Tutoring students in difficult sub- jects was the main responsibility for those current seniors elected into the National Honor Society as juniors. They also sold candy to raise money and helped to initiate the new mem- bers. RIGHT: Honor Society Officers: Top: J. Lester, Tutoring Chairmang Mr. Misevich. Middle: S. LoBue, President. Bottom: K.
