All speech teams finish with successhcl season The competitive speech teams of Maine South, Contest Speakers and Debate, once again proved successful in their perfection of work. The clubs worked diligently to obtain place- ments in tournaments held at nearby schools. The chosen members studied various speeches and pieces and performed them for many judges. Also, many of the talented members Z' won trophies and awards for their accomplishments at many contests. Readers Theater also kept up Maine South's excellent reputation as a tough competitor. WIMTH modernizes with new radio equipment Once again, the WMTH staff served the public with various radio programs. Aside from broadcasting the football and basketball games, the staff also produced weekly sports reports, which recounted the scores of additional athletic events. The music, as well as the talk shows, and the holiday specials provided enjoy- ment for the community. As in pre- vious years, WMTH even served as a type of training for future disc jockeys. Other activities such as the WMTH annual car wash proved to be a big success. In any event, due to the work of the staff members, WMTH provided the students as well as the public with entertainment.
