Social Science Dept. adds new computer set-up nf inf' A-i 1 ...ap 5 This year, Maine South's Social Science Department has made con- siderable improvement. Government and U.S. History, two required cour- ses, and various elective courses, such as Anthropology, Economics, and Law In American Society were con- tinued. In addition, a new computer set-up in the A-wing informed stu- dents by such means as world popu- lation and election games. Once more, students benefited from field trips, films, and classroom simu- lations. ew materials improve classes Although no new curriculum changes took place this year, the Industrial Education Department modified existing courses, and, in doing so, provided students with an interesting and educational oppor- tunity. By both consulting and questioning local business firms for their advice on modern equipment and supplies, this department upheld a continuing sustenance of high grade standards. To this end, new pollution testing and energy conserving equip- ment was added to the automotive section to keep up with contemporary problems, issues, and concerns. Furthermore, various additional materials were supplemented to re- place old equipment.
