N . A.: Music the Universal Language Music has its own unique power - it is the only language that re- quircs no translation. Everyone may participate as a composer, performer or listener. Maineis Music Department offers a Wide selection to all thrcc. There are Harmony Courses on three levels, availahle to the Composer. The performer may select Band, Chorus, or Orchestra. HU' EIGHTH ANNUAL MESSIAH As the huge curtains are slowly opened, and the first measures of the overture ,X are played the audience senses the magnificence and reverence that will surround 3,- Maine's production of Handelis Messiahf' Six-hundred vocalists and instru- ' mentalists dressed in the traditional blue and white, set the stage for the splendor that leaves a warmth which remains throughout the Christmas season. Both participants and listeners are thrilled by the deep meaning that Handelis oratorio conveys - the longing of the World for the Messiah, Christis life and death, and faith in Christ and Immortality.
