HU' EIGHTH ANNUAL MESSIAH As the huge curtains are slowly opened, and the first measures of the overture ,X are played the audience senses the magnificence and reverence that will surround 3,- Maine's production of Handelis Messiahf' Six-hundred vocalists and instru- ' mentalists dressed in the traditional blue and white, set the stage for the splendor that leaves a warmth which remains throughout the Christmas season. Both participants and listeners are thrilled by the deep meaning that Handelis oratorio conveys - the longing of the World for the Messiah, Christis life and death, and faith in Christ and Immortality.
