55 VARIETY SHOW DOWN YOND:ER IS A BIG HIT It,s Mardi Gras time down yonder. All of New Orleans celebrated the Mardi Gras in the '55 Variety Show. The toiling slaves, the excited tourists, the busy shopkeepers, and even the street cleaners joined in the spirit of the holidays. Many hours of hard work were put in by stu- dent council members, stagecrafters, and the cast. Aided by Mr. Sickal and Mr. Hoag, Judy Seese, student director, and Tom Dickinson, stage manager, organized the show, With enthusiasm the cast rehearsed long hours, while behind the scenes crews painted and built sets. As a result of the demand for tickets, three performances Of the play were given. The cast played to over four thousand people during these three days. This in itself was enough reward for all the time and labor put in to make the show a success. S.P.B.Q.S.A.
