H I It Mr. Kristo, former science teacher at M.R.H.S., recently paid a visit to the thriving metropolis of Grange Hall. The gentleman soon met with mis- fortune, however, when he slipped on the icy sidewalk. Maynard Olson, an ambulance driver, happened to be passing by just at that moment and stopped to see if he could be of any help. Mr. Kristo, after greeting Maynard, de- cided it would be best if he stopped off at the local hospital for a check- up. He was surprised to learn that Dorothy Julln was a doctor on the hos- pital staff. Head-nurse Harriet Johnson assigned Mr. Kristo to a room and he passed the night in restful bliss. The next morning he was X-rayed by Shirley Gilbertson, head technician at the hospital. At the office desk he was very happy to meet Betty Erickson. She informed him that the local high school faculty was made up of James Bjurquist, principal, Billy Fleming, shop instructor, Lavonne Mattson, English, Ralph Borman, mathematics, and Ronald Gray, coach Upon hearing this he paid a brief visit to the High School where met many of his former students Leaving he ventured into one of the more colorful barber shops where he received a haircut from Myrlen Olson nd a manicure from Helen Thorson saw McMahon's huge department store, owned and operated by Gary He went in to purchase s gift for his wife and was amazed to find that May Olson was one of the numerous clerks When he left the store he was greeted by Manley Olson and Gerald Larson who were taking down Christmas decorations on Main Street A policeman stopped him for speeding down the main street Mr Kristo was amazed to find that the officer was none other than his former scholar, Leo Odden Leo never a man to let nostalgic memories stand in the way of his sworn duty hauled his former teacher down to the station Floyd Wick lund, who had recently been appointed Chief of Police immediately slapped a ten dollar fine on the offender He went to the Stork Club to dine and was astonished to check his hat with hat check girl Nancy Williams Warren Hase, head waiter, assisted him to his table The soft music and low light were very dreamy The entertain ment for the evening was furnished by soloist Dorothy Johnson accompanied by Dorothy Smith at the piano The delicious meal was prepared by Elaine Olson Before leaving Grange Hall he stopped to get gas at a large gas station run by the former Mavis Westerberg and her husband There he saw Marlene Clbert and her husband who were visiting them from Maine Leaving the Metropolitan district and the roar of the busv city he drove out into the peaceful country On two mailboxes directly across the road from each other he saw the names Donald Hoffman and Vaughn Schneider Passing by he saw their children verslng one another in a snowball fight Driving back into Maiden Rock which was soon to become a suburb of Grange Hall he renewed old memories of the Maiden Rock graduating class of 1953 mu hx ry X,- giwl 'N 'N he He .
