We wish to reflect our worthwhile experiences and endeavors that were brought about by our many precious memories, numerous relationships, and valuable training which we received here at our beloved Alma Mater. Now come with us and see how we have made our place in the history of M.H.S. during our short four years, which have culminated in this glorious year of 1969. 4 Dedication We, the Senior Class of 1969, wish to dedicate, this, the ’69 Maidonian, to one of the most respected and gifted men of our community, Mr. H. S. Shepherd. He has been a guiding light and an inspiration to each of us during these past but fond years. Neither words nor actions can express the sincere love that we have in our hearts for this great man. We know that as we look for our somewhere in life, his guiding hand will have a large part to do with our success. 7Kr. Jf. cS. S iep iercf 5 TItemoriain JlCiss Garofun Swanson She passed away, like morning dew, Before the sun was high; So brief her time, she scarcely knew The meaning of a sigh. As round the rose its soft perfume. Sweet love around her floated; Admired she grew—while mortal doom Crept on, unfeared, unnoted. I’ll never forget. Maiden High School could boast of four teachers, the principal, and a graduating class of twenty. Incidentally, members of the present Senior Class were for the most part just beginning to make their initial appearances upon this planet. How time passes! But the years proved to be good ones, the progress toward school excellance was steady and each succeeding Senior Class generally emerged larger, more resourceful, and challenging. Seniors, class of Nineteen Hundred Sixty Nine, you have contributed in a significant way to your school and the community it serves. You are destined, 1 am convinced, to give yourselves in a more meaningful way to the task of helping mankind achieve on a higher level. You will find that the ideals, goals, and attitudes developed during your school days will help you to attain loftier planes. The skills you have mastered will tend to assure success. But remember that “heaven helps those who help themselves.” Be creative;endeavor to think clearly;learn to lead; be fair minded. I’ll always remember Maiden High School—and the class of Nineteen Hundred Sixty-Nine. Mr. H. S. Seniors 1969 — Look to the Future When first we think of memories from the past We think of the important and the great, Ignoring all the happenings so small, But of these things are lasting mem’ries made. So many new and different things appeared: New sports, and clubs, and dates, and study halls. And high school soon became a common sight. And as we worked, we learned, we planned, we grew. Through striving, many honors came our way; Now graduation comes as highest yet. But we cannot be proved of past success Unless we keep upon the upward path. As each goes to be great in his own way, The past is not for praise, but to inspire, To be a light for us in days to come. In these few words I would like to express my sincere gratitude for all the things that you have done for me, especially my family, the principal, the guidance counselor and all the other teachers. I will always remember the good times at the ball-games, dances and parties because all of you were very friendly and understanding with me. I want to thank the people of Maiden, who made it possible that I be here. If anytime some of you are able to go to Bilbao, Spain, I will be happy to see your faces again.
