In her years with us we learned to appreciate her kind per- sonality and fine sense of humor. Although she will not graduate with us, many of us will look around and expect to see her shining face. Even though she is gone, Margaret's memory still lives in the hearts of her friends of the Senior Class. 8 dedication because of. . . your your your your HELPFULNESS in such difficult subjects as physics and trigonometry. PATIENCE when we could not fully acquire a knowledge of these subjects. SINCERITY toward our personal and school problems. KINDNESS when we brought these problems to you. We, the Senior Class of 1963, do dedicate this, our 1963 Maidonian, to you, Mrs. Lucille Miller. uC 3ecause of you 77 Mr. H. S. Shepherd, our principal The worth of a Senior Class is certainly mined solely by its size, its accom- plishments, or even its native ability. We have had larger classes here; perhaps we have even had classes with higher IQ's and that have left more easily determined tan- gible results. Attitudes, however, make the big differ- ence, for they play an extremely important role ; and in this respect the present Senior Class far excels some of the others we have had. That is why the class of 1963 will ever be held in fond remembrance by those of us who have had the privilege of working with them. We sincerely hope that every good thing they deserve may come their way. Jo)e are a youruj, vigorous institution, untramme ed Mr. William Herter CBoarcf Mr. H. S. A special talent marks each one, Their shoulders thus to wear upon, Months of achievement gay. That helped us to reach Commencement Day. All honor to our worthy school We strived to prove with every rule; All honor to the mark that we Have handed to posterity. In history never will there rise, Our like again, we dare surmise. What can we ever say? That will make up for our pride today. Joe Shuford-Editor As we near the closing of the year, graduation mono- polizes most of our thoughts; still, happy memories which were shared at Maiden High are a part of our everyday thoughts. We remember the teenage dances and parties which were so much fun. We remember the football and bas- ketball games which were lost and won by our more- than-average teams. Meetings in the halls between classes, walking our best girl or boy around the halls, the exams which were passed and failed, Seniors dates which were so much fun, the teachers who couldn't be fooled--these are all fond memories of our days at M. H. S. Eventhough it will not show, our hearts will cry when we have to say good-by to Maiden High. These are the reasons for this annual—memories, the one thing which has been preserved within these pages. 53 Joe Shuford, Editor Mrs. Gomedela-Sponsor, Peggy Reinhardt, Sandra Douglas, Cynthia Whisenant, Jewel Kimbrell, Ann Litten, Brenda Withers, Jane Ellis, Vickie McRee, Marsha Pate, Beverly Cansler, Earl Sipe, Sarah Willis, Mary G. Jewel Kimbrell and Donald Cline, trying to fit into one seatbelt, certainly shows why they were chosen as FRIENDLIEST. There is certainly no doubt in anyone’s mind why Cathy Fish and Earl Sipe were selected as CUTEST. 78 ljj)ho ’s To) ho Being punctual is only one of the reasons that Joe Shuford and Dottie McCaslin were chosen as MOST DEPENDABLE. It is easy to see why Monte Jean Propst and Robert Bostwere chosen MOST COURTE- OUS. Mary Grace Turbyfill and Chris Rose, MOST TALENTED, playing a complicated duet. Wearing their senior jackets and standing in front of the athletic bulletin board plain- ly shows why Cathy Fish and Gerald Moore were chosen as MOST ATHLETIC. 79 Js)£o ’s WAo Always experimenting in the lab shows why Mary Grace Turbyfill and Tommy Cherry were chosen MOST AMBITIOUS. Being deeply ingrossed in their studies, even on Sunday, plainly shows why Sarah Willis and Freddie Keever are indeed MOST INTELLECTUAL. 80 Just knowning these two people shows why they were elected as BEST ALL AROUND. Just by looking at this picture one can easily see why Cathy Fish and Jimmy Deaton were awarded the title BEST LOOKING. m0’s WAo After seeing these two smiling faces, there is no doubt in anyone's mind why Cathy Fish and Jimmy Deaton were chosen as SENIOR FAVORITES. Sarah Willis and Freddie Keever, chang- ing tires in their Sunday best, certainly shows that they are truly MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED. Monte Jean Propst and Joe Shuford who were chosen as MOST UNDERSTANDING are always ready to listen to anyone's problems. Is)Jio Jo)Jio Tommy Cherry and Gaye Stroud up to some of the pranks which make them the MOST UNFORGETTABLE of the Senior Class. The attitude of Gerald Moore and Doris Campbell toward our school shows they indeed have THE BEST SCHOOL SPIRIT. Raising the flag is a very appropriate task for Mary Grace Turbyfill and Freddie Keever who have the title as BEST LEAD- ERS. Eating ice cream at the break is a typical scene at M.H.S. proving that Gerald Moore and Doris Crafton are indeed TYPICAL SENIORS. 82 JKarshafs Left to right: EarlSipe; Chris Rose; Mary Grace Turbyfill; Freddie Keever, chief; Sarah Willis; Joe Shuford; Randy Duncan.
