1 MAlOafl illGJI SCHOOL e en e enter the doors of Maiden High. Daily we enjoy our lunch. Foreword Day by day we experience many things at Maiden High. Some we soon forget, while others remain a part of us for a much longer period. It is the hope of the Senior Class that this MAIDONIAN will present a glimpse back into the past year and that it will be a reminder of the mental, physical, and spiritual growth in which we have all shared. THROUGH BETTER SPORTSMANSHIP Lunch time break: Bumpity-bump. We wish we could have won the Granite Falls Game. The Athletic Program at Maiden High has been very successful thispast year. When measured statistically or when measured by lasting values received, it is a good record. As participating athletes and fans, winning or losing, we place our emphasis on good sportsmanship and rec- ognize the fact that it is very desirable in every area of life. Mighty Maiden comes to bat. 8 Jo Ann McCaslin and Brenda Beard proudly hold their basketball team’s conference Sportsmanship Trophy. VICTORY AND DEFEAT.. .. JOY AND DISAPPOINTMENT 9 We, the Senior Class of 1960, wish to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to you for your service to Maiden High School these past five years. Much of the success of our Physical Education Program has been due to your coaching, for you have taught us not only how to play the game well but also how to main- tain good sportsmanship. Your in- struction in Health and English has been a credit to us and to our school. It is with great pleasure that we pre- sent this 1960 MAIDONIAN to you, Mr. William H. Barefoot. 10 More has been accomplished in the area of space explorations during the life of any single member of the pres- ent Senior Class than during all pre- viously recorded History. Double the time element and the same statement can probably be made concerning the great field of Mathematics. Ironically, however, the destruction of life on the earth has never seemed so inevitable as now. Perhaps the challenge is sufficiently urgent that the Senior Class may move in such a way as to accomplish more for hu- manity than has been done since the coming of Christ, over nineteen hun- dred years ago. I am sure they will do their best. H. S. Shepherd PRINCIPAL MR. H. S. SHEPHERD ADMINISTRATION 11 DR. WYLIE W. RAYLE MR. WILLIAM H. ADAMS Vocational Agriculture MR. WILLIAM H.
