Prophecy JUDY PRESSMAN wealthy millionairess and society lady of Mahopac is giving a reunion for the class of 49 at her fashionable estate which we all remember as belonging to Mike Meehan The doorbell r1HgS JUDITH'S butler Oh, No' Look who her butler is, STEVE PETERSEN' On the side he is co-owner of the Adler Elevator Shoe Corporation He opens the door to reveal BEATRICE LORETZ whose arm we see linked through that of her fifth husband ETHEL RITCHIE, in nurse's uniform, is following her She is we see, in charge of BEA S little ones who are tagging behind In the distance we can hear the rattle of a Model A Ford it draws close, we recognize the outline of BILLY PFISTER'S prize Out of this seemingly small contraption, pile BILLY PFISTER, champion barker at Barnum and Bai1ey's greatest show on earth, FRAN BAISLEY, who is now understudying Esther Williams, JOHNNIE KUCK her theatrical manager, FRANK KLEPIS, who is working on Dick Tracy comic strips Cdrawing all the villainsl, Miss ELLEN MARIE JONES, New York State Representative in the Senate, and the Miss ELFRIEDA GRIEBEL who has just fiD1Sh9d a three year run on Broadway as the crazy woman 1n the famous play 'Medea We notice they are all from the v1c1nity of Secor and still sticking together defending 'God' Country A long car pulls up behlnd BILLY S and we see Admiral and Mrs Sulllvan the former Miss JOAN BEGER Following them are three very turned up nose children Varga Glrls for Esquire Magazine, which is edited by CHARLES JULIANO who follows him Piling out of h1s Ford is TED CARLONI who has pitched three no hitters for the Brooklyn Dodgers, RAY COSTELLO the manager of that team EDDIE OAKLEY, President of Columbia Un1vers1ty, who plays football w1th them on the side, and SAM TILFORD the Smiling Swede who owns a monopoly on all taxis in Mahopac Up the gold plated walk come the two sets of inseparables of the class GLORIA HAIGHT and LOUISE CASAGRANDE, gossip columnists on the Putnam County Press, and BOB MCHUGH and CAESAR IACOVONE who are the business managers of the Ziegfield theatres in New York whose plays, incidentally are directed by MILDRED FOOTE who got her start at dear old MHS She is following them with a play scrlpt in one hand and a whip in the other Latecomers are JOH LUNDELIUS, who plays basketball for the N Y Knickabockers, and JIMMY HYATT, owner of Agor Brothers' Grocery store Suddenly we hear the loud roar of an airplane above our heads It is dropping somethlng 1D a parachute upon the house The plane flies so low that we recognize the features of FRED CREIGHTON His package lands in the fireplace It s none other than JIMMY FARRELL What a dramatic entrance for a dramatic fellow' Without our wit n party could be a success We regret that two of our class members are unable to make it SHIRLEY SMITH, who plays the organ at all religious services in the Hollywood Bowl, and JESSIE MACDONALD, who on a trip to Scotland met a bonny Scot laddle and settled down 1n her native land As the party progresses, we all reminisce olden days and marvel at how well fate has planned our futures Y J I .
