EXP RIEN CED CHIEF know for a fact NCM's come with KODIAKU The thankless jobs Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy visits USS Mahlon S. Tisdale August 22, 1995. ETCM QSWJ John Hagan visited onboard and met with sailors from the USS Mahlon S. Tisdale and neighboring ships. The MCPON shared his insights on a range of current is- sues including: the Navy's new evaluation systemg the future restructuring of selected ratingsp and equal opportunity in today's Navy. Master Chief Hagan spoke highly of the Navy's new evaluation system He says the new system will benefit all hands by giving a less inflated representation of a sailor's per- formancep and emphasizing the importance of counseling. He also provided insight to the future of selected ratings. He gave the crew good ad- vice to get ahead by working on requirements for new rates replacing those being com- bined or eliminated. He also said this restructuring of rates would present sailors with an equal or improved chance for advancement. The last issue he highlighted for the crew was the equal opportunity climate in today's Navy. He said the Navy as a whole is well on the way to where we want to be, and that we have bragging rights when compared to the environment present in the civilian community. The MCPON then answered the sailors' questions on issues concerning proposed uni- form changes, retirement compensation changes, and many other issues on the minds of sailors from Mahlon S. Tisdale. After addressing the concerns of the crew, Master Chiet Hagan left the sailors with the confidence and inspiration that our Navy was in good hands . fLeftJ ETCMCSWQ lohn Hagen and BMCSQSWJ Warren Hen- don X x 1 - ' N . 3- ' ' Qi f in K 'Q ,X ,Q Q gs, 3 A .As 4 W h Q' , A MEM .
