G A lfffii. sf-' - u '-4 PROJECT HANDCLASP Matzalan Crewmembers trom the ship helped the people oth Mazatlan, Mexico while visiting there March 25, 1995 by distributing Project Handclasp materials and participating in a commu- nity relations project. PRQIECT HANDCLASP, the US. Navy's otticial people-to-people program, is designed help needy people oversees by transporting and personally delivering humanitarian, edu- cational and goodwill material. These supplies are donated by private citizens and charita- ble organizations throughout the United States. Fourteen of our crewmembers distributed 2-ltltl pounds ot' Project Handclasp materials to the Cuidad de Los NinoslOrphanagej, thejovenes ljnidos Drogadictos en Superacion, AC. and the Grupo Amistad Drogadictos Anomimos, A.C. I Dru g Rehabilitation Centersj. In addition the crewmembers participated in a community relations project by painting two rooms at the grade school Heroe de Nacozari.
