Mathews, chairman of the Commission of Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, giving his oliicial notification that Mahanoy City High School has been approved for continuance on the list of Accredited Second- ary Schools. The Evaluation Committee visited our school for three days and submitted its re- port commending the esprit de corps, the eagerness to present broad extracurricular offer- ings, the levels attained by graduates. These all attest to the success of the school program. If we have frills in education in Mahanoy High, they are necessary for the student and community welfare. Wfe have not ignored the basic classroom studies. Learning these comes first. Wfhat has been added helps to make open- minded, tolerant citizens. That is our aim.
