THE BEGINNING OF A SCORE: Robert Jones (21) on an end-round sweep carried for seven yards, as McBride, Armstrong (24) chases him out of bounds. This play set up a touchdown three plays later. WALKER SETS FAST PACE: The Classic was a fast scoring game, with the Mighty Green Dragons setting the pace. On this play Robert Jones gained big yardage with a key block by William Kimborugh (70). Armstrong players 23 and 19 are Smith and Lewis, respectively. ing, — PEOPLE ON THE GO: The cheering team was on the go every minute of game time; singing, cheering, yelling, jumping, shouting, and dancing. The Dragons are people who love to GO. And it was really GO at the Armstrong-Walker Classic. Junior varsity SEASON RECORD — 5-0-2 THIS IS THE START TOWARD SOMETHING BIG. The Junior Varsity (JV’S) team is the beginning of football experiences for many of these youngsters. These are the experiences that are designed to lead up to the BIG TEAM. Yes, this is the freshman team. During the 1969 season the JV’S compiled a very impressive record. Indi- vidually, there were many standouts that seem to show great prom- ises for the varsity team, come another school year. The JV’S pictured below are: Lloyd Coley, Marvin Gaines, David Churchwell, Leonard Adams, Roy Howard, Archie Claiborne, and Allen Stuckey.
