THANKSGIVING — A TIME TO SHARE. It is tradition at Walker to share with the less fortunate at Thanks- giving time. During a special Assembly program, baskets of food were presented by homerooms and other groups. The basket were delivered to hospitals and needy families. The following social clubs of Walker participated in this project: THE CHECKMATES Charles Owens, Michael Whitlock, Bayson Jackson. en THE VIP’S Harvey Williams, Ralph Thomas, Robert Briggs, THE ZETA’S Alonzo Hunter, Wilbert Suggs, Maurice Henderson, Thomas Cunningham, Jerome Jenkins, Raymond Robert Jones, Marvin Burford, Harry Bryce, Glenn Bowser, Alexander Watson, Melvin Satchal, and Anderson, Harold Tucker, and David Wall, President. Christopher Chester. YOUNG OFFICE WORKERS GET TRAINING. How the school office operates is of much interest to the students in the picture below. Those learning office procedures under the regular school secretaries are; Sandra Jones, Celestine Patterson, Christine Brooks, Linda Jones, Adrian Levi, Pamela Moye, Sharon Barksdale, Valeria Branch, and Julia Tyler.

“PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE ”’ The majorette squad is one of the hardest working extracurricular groups. Rain, sleet, hail or shine we are always practicing. They are; Kathy Clarke, Captain; Beverly Brown, Co.; Mrs. Bolden, Shelia Ford, Laverne James, Katherine Taylor, Betty Smith, Camille Walker and Goldie Goode. Cheering squad has a ‘JAM SESSION” after a hard day of practicing. “FIGHT DRAGONS !!I!I” The cheering squad is shown here in action at a practice session. Understandings WEST SIDE STORY ACTION This is a fight between the Puerto Rican Boys and the American Boys. School Observes Veterans Day We believe that the school should seek to foster those activities that tend to upgrade moral and spiritual appreciations. Our Veterans Day observance, this year took on a new meaning. Cadets, Staff Sgt. Karl A. Goodall, and Pfc. Kenneth W. Hewitt stand guard at a display as a part of Veterans Day observance. We are grateful for a ‘‘Land of the free and home of the brave.”’ FUTURE DRAGONS: Junior high school students who will be attending Maggie Walker High School the next school term spent a day at Walker recently in a new program geared to make the transition smoother. Among the participants in the program conceived by Principal Sidney S.
