The Literary Club provides a Secretary; Pamela Moye, Charles Fowler, Mary Goodall, Harry channel for self expression and an opportunity for intensified Bryce, Treasurer; Nathan Harris, Chaplain; Gladiola Harris, Shelia study of literary forms. The Sponsors for this club are Miss Friend Jackson, President; Phyllistine Marrow, Phyllis Howard, Shirley and Mrs. Liggins. Club members in the photo are Arthur Lane, Blunt, and Horace Flannigan. STUDENTS ASSIST LIBRARIANS. These club members assist the Stanley Foster, Joe Elliott, Dianne Squire, Larry Bland, Lonell librarian and at the same time learn many library skills. Some of | McQueen, Mrs. Black, Sponsor, Sarah Lacy, Carolyn Davenport, these students will engage in national competitive contests. Those Craig Mills, and Michael Taylor. AIDES ASSIST LIBRARIANS. The Library Aides make up an organization of students that are chiefly interested in library science. They assist the librarians in many ways in making the library more effective in our school and community life. They learn library procedures and how to implement the objectives of the library. The Aides and their sponsors as shown are: Mrs. Samuels, Dianne Jones, Mrs. Boyd, Sally Murphy, David Wright, Shirley Ellis, Gwendolyn Thompson, and Larry Bland. VICA CLUB HOLDS MEETING. The Walker VICA meets four times each month. The Club is composed of all ICT students. They learn parliamentary procedures, engage in contests, and attend VICA conventions. Mr. Hill, ICT Coordinator, sponsors this club. “YES, GIRLS WILL TALK!” These girls, members of the Girl Talk Club, will also listen. During their meetings they discuss today’s issues that are of great interest to girls. The members posing on the school’s south end stairway are: Doretha Mayo, Mary Shaw, Josephine Porter, Ruth Brown, and LsFonda Armistead. Also, Karen Barksdale, Rose Johnson, Carolyn Hunt, Ruth Cox, Paula Graham, and the Sponsor, Mrs. R. B. Walker. 49 DRAMA IS A FINE ART. Students enrolled in this activity discuss plays in detail before going into rehearsals in preparation for production. The students enjoy full participation during these sessions.
