We are gathered here, maybe for the last time to say a sad but hearty farewell to all of you. Most of us are glad that we have reached our goal, but we are equally sorry that we must leave the school that We have learned to love, say farewell to our be- loved principals, Mr. E. Segear and Mrs. Ora Newman, who have worked so hard to make and keep this school one of the 'best schools in the United States. We have to say farewell to our teachers but we can't thank them enough for the ways they have helped us in reaching our goal. The class of '45 sends a farewell to the stu- dent body, and to the students who are going to follow us shortly we say, strive to make the best of everything that crosses your paths. Some of the graduating students will seek a higher education while others will let their vocational training received here be the only means of earning a living, while others will be called in to tl1G,A1'1HCd Forces to Hght for their country in order to preserve the Four Freedoms. Once again we have to say farewell to you but we will never forget you. Later we will appreciate the scoldings we received from our principals and teachers. There is a quota- tion which says: Spare the rod and spoil the childf, Our parents didn't hesitate to use the rod in order not to spoil the child. We thank our parents for everything they did in order that we are now able to graduate with the rest of our class. We will never forget them. We in this class will not seek the same thing in the years to come, but I hope that each member will not lose track of the rest of our classmates. li LUCILLE BUTLER ,iii
