NEAL VLASIN 220 lbs. Rugged, cool, and plenty of desire seem to best describe Neal. He an- chored the center of the line and kept opponents honest. His bonecrush- ing tackles and blocks oftentimes turned the trend of the game in the Pirates favor. Neal is a four letter winner. KENNY CAROTHERS 162 lbs. Ken was the hard-luck boy again this year. He was just beginning to hit his stride when he cracked his jaw. Kenny is a ver- satile ball-player alter- nating between end and quarterback. Versatile Luke led the squad scoring on 11 TDs and 15 PATS. He alter- nated between quarter- back and halfback. Like Duke and Neal, he is a four year letterm an. Luke shone best in open- field running. He was named to All-State Hon- orable-Mention. NL :ii GAYLEN BATES 160 lbs. Gaylen was a newcomer to the Pirate squad this year and gave us a well balanced backfield. He tallied 42 points for his efforts and displayed a lot of talent on defense.
