Quinowsld Most Valuable Player Summary Madras kicked off its 1957 grid season by dropping one to Bend 33-6 on the Bruin field Friday, September 13. Asiatic flu took its toll of squad members to force the cancellation of the Redmond-Madras game the following week. One week later MUHS traveled to Molalla only to be repulsed by a lop-sided 39-7 tally. October fifth again saw the Bison on the road as they traveled to Monmouth and were the under-dogs of the 45-6 score. On October 11 Madras made the most unusual come- back to start a string of four wins, after losing three straight, by trampling VVy'East 14 to 7 on Kelly Field. The next two tilts, both away from home, saw the red-hot Buffaloes stampeding over John Day 40-13 and Burns 20 to 0. The unbeatable Buffs celebrated their homecoming and their last league game of the season by pounding the Lakeview Honkers 20-6. This stunning victory put the Bison at the top in their sub-district and into the district playoffs. Carmen Piercy was elected Miss Touch- down for the event by the Lettermen's Club. Madras's valiant gridsters finally went down in de- feat on the eighth of November to a heavier Vale team 26 to 15 after leading the Vikings 8 to 7 at half-time. This game marked the high point since the Buffaloes competed at a B school and went into the quarter- finish at Klamath Falls in 1948. Name Pos.
