L. Winstead Among the duties assumed by the Physics Club this year was raising the flag each morning. For several years, this had been neglected until the Club, sponsored by Mr. G. L. Winstead returned this tradition to MNHHS. The Club also provided a weather service for the students of MNHHS. Proving to be accurate in its predictions, the forecasts made by the Club were influential when important decisions had to be made. For the first time since its organization, the Kentucky Association of Physics Teachers met at a high school when, in March of 1974, they were guests of the Physics Club. College and high school professors from all over the Commonwealth gathered for this important event in the world of Physics. 173 Shelly Callaway OFFICERS: Pres. — Ivan Polley V. Center WE KNOW WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR’ Webb's Studio Photography by Chi chi 250 EDITOR’S PRODUCTION NOTE The task of filling a 256 page book with photo- graphs, headings, color prints, art work, and unity in order to tell the story about the lives of over 1,000 people from day to day is not an easy task. It is a task that demands numerous hours of planning. Then the plans must be carried out by each individual who is a part of the annual staff. Plans are easily altered and it is necessary to be flexible because of the many seem- ingly crises that arise every day. The staff has worked very hard and in my opinion, they deserve a standing ovation. Who decides the theme for the yearbook? Who decides what the cover will be like? Who decides which pictures will be used in the layouts? These are questions that I always wanted to ask but never knew who to ask. The theme is chosen by the editor and the cover is voted upon by the entire staff. The decision as to which pictures are to be used lies in the hands of each individual section editor who is given his assignment at the beginning of the year. The job of the business manager is to make and dis- perse money; the job of the sponsor is to supervise staff activities; and the job of the editor is to see that all work is done well and on time. Team work gets it done! To whom it may concern — the type print is Mel- ior and the paper is dull 90 pound enamel. The cover is red and white shoe grain leather. Total cost for the 1974 MAROON exceeds $9,500. The money is raised strictly through the sale of advertising and year- books. It is the sincere hope of the 1974 MAROON staff that you will be able to enjoy this yearbook and that it will always be a reminder of how it was in 1973-74. 251 preme Vfe
