Girls Cross Country Breezes Through Season. Our 1978 girls’ cross country team, under the coaching of Mr. Pavesich, ended the season with a dual meet record of two wins and two losses. They took 3rd at the sectional meet and 6th at the district meet. One of the highlights of this year’s season was taking 2nd place at the Chagrin Falls Invitational, where they beat the AA state champions. The cross country team practices every day at Pine Hurst Golf Course, beginning in the middle of August and not letting up until the begin- ing of November.

Field Hockey Has Rebuilding Season Composed mainly of freshmen, sophomores and juniors, the girls’ field hockey team com- peted against some outstanding teams. Most of the games were against schools in the greater Cleveland area. Although the overall score was one win, six losses and two ties, the outstanding de- fense seldom let the opposing team make more than one or two goals. The highlight of the season was a 3-0 win over Andrews School for Girls.
