22 Marching Band Places High At Contest. This year’s marching band must be counted as one of the best in a history of ex- cellent bands. In addition to a full summer schedule of re- hearsals and parades, the band made its yearly trip to Ripley, West Virginia for five days of intensive work. On their return, the band played at all football half- time shows, three invitational festivals and one contest, where they placed first on parade and second on field competition.
