ALMA MATER Green Ridge Florist Jack Jill Children Oh, we love our Alma Mater, Alma Mater fair and true, And though we wander far away We’ll often think of you. From the day we entered high school To the day we’ll say good-bye, Our memories have gathered Like the clouds in the sky. Though life be sad or gay Our thoughts will always be Among the friends we knew so very well. No matter where we roam, No matter where we stray, Our memories of Madison will stay. Oh, we love our Alma Mater, Alma Mater fair and true, And though we wander far away We’ll often think of you. Best Wishes Graduates of '53 Madison, O. N. Madison, O.

S a mirror reflects the faces of those who come before it, so do the schools of a com- munity reflect the hopes and ideals of the people of that community. We of the faculty who are responsible for the details of the actual functioning of the schools recognize, with a great deal of gratification, the help received from the hosts of people who both as individuals and as members of groups have always stood ready and willing. Our program, however, is not for the present but its full import will be realized for many years, or until the present school citizens become citizens active in the democracy. Our today's foundations and plans must be in the light of our future possible needs. Private whims and prejudices have no place in an impartial project such as school plan- ning and progress. Personal jealousy and selfishness will never help build an enduring pro- gram of any kind. The lethargy of non-interest is deadly to any democratic organization. We appreciate then, the assistance of our fathers and mothers of today--whether they be board of education members, parent-teacher association officers, or only active mem- bers of these or any other groups of our common interest. Our only care is that we may continue to receive their sincere, thoughtful and unselfish support; not in behalf of those who plan and toil, but in the interest of those for whom we all strive--the men and women of tomorrow.
