continued from page 8 the summer flicks and get in some summer socializing. Working was a big part of summer. Some guys helped their dads on the farm mov- ing pipe or running farm eguipment. Daughters helped their moms get ready for family reunions. Others had jobs at stores in or arou nd the Rexburg area. Some athletes had a more rigorous schedule. They spent their time sharpening their athletic skills. I spent five different weeks at basketball or vol- leyball camps in Utah and at Ricks College, said junior Amie Smith. Basketball players spent more than one weekend on the road playing at tourna- ments all across the state. Football players practiced two nights a week through- out the summer and spent a week at the Idaho State Uni- versity Football Camp. Due to problems with reg- istration students found themselves back in school two days before school was scheduled to start. Whether working or playing all sum- mer, students agreed that summer was sizzlin ' hot, and a little too short. r Sherne Howard, Michelle Davis, Nancy Weatherington, Diane Nel- son, and Debbie Chiddix, enjoyed their hike at girls camp. Trying to pack all of her clothes to go home was the worst part of Joelle Beesley ' s vacation. Summer 1 1
